Women’s Equality Day, observed annually on August 26th, commemorates a pivotal moment in history: The theme is the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States in 1920. This famous amendment was providing the women with the vote which was another significant move toward offering gender equality in the United States. Originally a day of education and celebration, Women’s Equality Day has been officially observed since 1973 and is further commemorated annually by presidential proclamation.
